ThreadGauge® is a computer-based system for the mechanical 100 % inspection of threads. Inspection is performed fully automatically with patented, non-tilting GO and NO-GO gauges, with cycle times starting from 8 seconds. All relevant data are documented and transferred to the desired IT system via the integrated interfaces. As part of the Industry 4.0 generation, ThreadGauge® is designed for direct communication between manufacturing and information technology. Two device versions are available: ThreadGauge® Mobile – for manual operation ThreadGauge® Automatic – for integration into existing and planned fully automated production lines High-precision sensor technology determines the appropriate torque and ensures sensitive, position-accurate probing. The feed force is mechanically compensated via a movable sleeve on the gauge mandrel. In addition, minor axial deviations (alignment errors) are reliably compensated to ensure accurate and objective measurements. The inspection system is freely parameterisable, which means it is suitable for metric threads with various pitches as well as for imperial threads and customer-specific workpieces. Standard threads from M3 to M30 are inspected in accordance with the quality and inspection requirements of ISO 1502 and DIN 13. The gauge mandrels inspect both internal and external threads, left- and right-hand threads, and through-holes as well as blind holes. ThreadGauge® is a comprehensive inspection application – particularly well suited to production lines with varying workpieces. Both device versions are PLC- and field-bus-capable. Relevant data are automatically forwarded to the connected IT system (e.g. quality, control, or ERP system) and evaluated there. If deviations exceed the tolerable range, the production sequence is stopped before the components are processed further.
